Teen Patti hand rankings

Every Teen Patti format uses the same three-card order, from strongest to weakest:

1. Trail (Trio): three cards of the same rank, such as A-A-A.
2. Pure sequence: three consecutive cards of the same suit, such as 7-8-9 of hearts.
3. Sequence (Run): three consecutive cards of mixed suits.
4. Colour (Flush): three cards of the same suit, not in sequence.
5. Pair: two cards of the same rank.
6. High card: none of the above, so the highest card decides.

Home Teen Patti vs casino Teen Patti

At home, Teen Patti is played between friends: you can play blind or seen, raise the pot and ask for a show, and bluffing is part of the fun. Instead you bet on an outcome, such as your hand against the dealer's or one hand against another, and winning bets are paid at fixed odds from the paytable. That makes rounds faster and easier to follow, but it also means there is no edge from bluffing, and the house keeps a built-in edge over time.

How Andar Bahar works

Andar Bahar, also known as Katti or Mangatha in parts of South India, uses a standard 52-card deck:

1. Place your bet on Andar (inside) or Bahar (outside), plus any side bet the table offers.
2. The dealer turns up the joker card, sometimes called the game card.
3. Cards are dealt one at a time, alternating between the Andar and Bahar sides.
4. The round ends when a card of the same rank as the joker appears. Suits do not matter.
5. Bets on the side where the match landed win.

Why the two sides can pay differently

The side that receives the first dealt card gets the first chance to match, which gives it a slight advantage. To balance this, many versions pay that side a little less than even money.
